Largs: The end of the trip

The trip ended as we pulled into Largs station. Largs is a seaside town on the Ayrshire coast of West Scotland. My grandfather used to be a signalman on this train track (see picture). The train goes past "the Pencil", the memorial to the Battle of Largs, when the Vikings were defeated. Largs was also journey's end when I was a boy and my dad would drive the family from London to Scotland for all our wonderful summer holidays.
